Introduction

Welcome to The Amazing F2P Mining 101 guide. This guide is dedicated to all you people who want to become hard core miners, but just don't know how!!! Sit back, relax, and read my guide.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

1- Requirements

To start Mining 101, please make sure you have the following:
  • Level 15 Mining (Able to mine Iron)
  • A pickaxe
  • Some amount of money around 50k to buy PICKAXES as you go along

If you have these, you are ready to begin!

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

2- The Beginnings (Level 15 - 30)

Start by heading off to DWARVEN MINES. Head to Falador and enter that way.

Once you go down the staircase, head west. You will see adamantite ore, keep heading west until you hit 3 iron ore in a banana shape ( . Make sure you have a high enough combat level to defeat king scorpions with ease, as they will often attack. You have an option here. You can either store the ore in your bank, and get money by selling or smelting later on, or you can powermine. If you are looking to make a business out of mining, store it in the bank.

Continue to mine, it will take until you have mined 313 ore, in other words, until you have made 12 trips to the bank.

Congratz! You have reached level 30 mining! Move onto the next section.

As recommended by Football Crazy:

What I would do here is to contunue to mine Copper until lvl 31. It's faster and closer to a bank! =)

Plus if you want to make money buy then tin ore and smelt it or superheat.

Doing this would mean mining around Varrock, below the city, there is several tin ore. To mine copper:

Go to Varrock, and continue to mine.

3- On Your Way (Level 31 - 40)

Before you continue, buy yourself a new pick.

After you have done that, head to Al-Kharid, and enter the mine.

Mine silver ore, and keep mining, storing it in your bank, and gaining up the levels.

It will take you 22 trips to get to level 40, which is alot of work.

Congratz! You are now an average miner, which can mine gold!

EUREKA!

Advice by Football Crazy:

Silver is long as heck to mine. And banking it is too far away. At this point I would mine iron if YOUR A MEMBER at Yanalle mines. It's closer to a bank and nobody is ever there. If not continue mining copper, trust me it is fast.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

4- Becoming A Pro (Level 41 - 50)

Buy yourself a new pick again (Rune). You will now mine coal. From now, it is smooth sailing. Mine where you like, you should have a fair understanding of which mine to use. I would recommend going to Lumbridge Swamps.

46 inventories later, you have reached level 50!

Congratz! Level 50 is good, but you want more. Continue to endure, because it WILL be worth it.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

5- Becoming A Legend (Level 51 - 85)

At this level it would take forever to reach 85 with gold. Plus it's a fair walk if you're not a member and can't use the shortcut into Falador. Try mining coal, or mithril ore at the Lumbridge Swamps again.

2248 trips of Coal, or (once you have reached level 55) 1381 trips of Mithril Ore and 40 trips of coal until level 85 - before level 55.

Congratz! You are now ranked a Legend in my standards

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

6- The Best Of The Best (Level 85+)

My, you have endured, yes? These next levels take alot of hard work, but you are becoming the best.

I would think you would have a high enough combat level to live in the wilderness, surely. If not, train your combat to level 60 or so.

Because we will now be mining Adamantite and Runite. Go to the wilderness for Runite and Adamantite (other mine for adamantite is Dwarven Mines).

Mine, and mine, and mine, and mine, and mine.

Statistics:
  • 3676 Inventories Of Adamantite Ore To Level 99
  • 2910 Inventories Of Runite Ore To Level 99

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

Conclusion

Wow, you have done it. Congratlations. Level 99. Good luck, and keep mining!
